HERE ARE 9 REASONS WHY:
What is Nutritional Therapy?
In Nutritional Therapy, we look at the body as a whole and address the source of health concerns rather than simply treating symptoms.
Nutritional Therapy Practitioners (NTPs) use the therapeutic effects of a natural, nutrient dense, whole foods diet, paired with specific lifestyle changes to address health concerns based on your unique biology.
1. Learn how to eat for YOUR body
EveryBODY is different, and there are no good one-size fits all models when it comes to nutrition. Everything including your genes, digestive health, gut health, and general constitution, can affect your optimal diet. An NTP can help you figure this out. We understand that improving health takes a bio-individual approach.
2. Holistic Approach
We provide the tools and the space for your body to heal itself.
Removing toxins + Adding nutrients = Improved Health
While focusing on nutrition is important, we know that lifestyle and environmental changes are just as important. Removing toxins and stress from your day-to-day environment is crucial for long-term improvement. If we aren’t addressing your underlying lifestyle stressors we are limiting your healing potential. Along with dietary changes, NTPs may recommend lifestyle changes like light movement, meditation, being kind to yourself, etc.
3. Preventative health
Most people wait until they are really sick to seek nutritional help. If that’s where you are, we can help. If you aren’t there yet, don’t wait. We can help you get on a path towards optimal health. Most people we work with don’t even realize how good they can feel until they make changes. We tend to move/shift our “normal” after awhile. We get used to our afternoon headaches, poor sleep quality, bloating/gas and other digestive discomforts. We convince ourselves that these are normal. The truth is you can feel better. The underlying and root causes of symptoms (the ones you have become used to) can, and most of the time do, lead to more serious illness. So don't wait until you have an autoimmune disease, cancer, or any other serious illness to make a change.
4. NTPs take the time to dig deep and search for the root of your symptoms
Unlike most practitioners in a conventional setting, NTPs won’t rush you through an office seeing you for only 15 minutes. We take the time to listen to what you are dealing with, what in your life may be contributing to your symptoms, and really search for root causes. Most Nutritional Therapy sessions will last 45-90 minutes, giving us the time we need to get to know you, your symptoms, and your lifestyle.
5. Invest in yourself (your health)
Being unhealthy is way more expensive than investing in Nutritional Therapy - both financially and in the cost to your quality of life. Working with an NTP can be invaluable. Monthly costs are typically about as much as one meal for a couple at a nice restaurant.
Make yourself and your health your number 1 priority. Being healthy will also allow you to be more present for the important things in your life.
6. NTPs get results.
NTPs are committed to helping you improve your health. With our training, the tools we use, and the knowledge we’ve acquired, we are confident that we can get you results and help you on your journey to better health.
7. NTPs aren’t afraid to refer you to the specialist you need
NTPs know the limits of their education. While we are experts in our field, we (most of us) are not doctors or licensed nutritionists. For this reason we keep a network of other professionals to refer clients out when needed— anyone from specialized Doctors and Therapist to massage therapists and energy workers. If we uncover a need for a specialized practitioner we won’t hesitate to refer out.
8. NTPs work at your pace
Maybe you are excited to go all in and willing to change your diet, lifestyle, and everything possible to improve you health. Or, maybe you are a little nervous and can only physically and mentally handle small steps for now. NTPs will meet you where you are, AND when necessary, we’ll encourage you to do just a little bit more. Clients come to us at all stages. You could be a strong athlete who is really in-tuned with your body but just want to optimize your diet, or you could be completely new to “healthy” eating and dealing with a lot of uncomfortable symptoms from your current diet and lifestyle. An NTP can help you meet your goals.
